Truck driver stable

-

A truck driver injured in a Saturday crash on State Highway 5, Te Haroto, is now in a serious but stable condition in Hawke’s Bay Hospital. Police were alerted to the crash around 9.30am on August 8. It is understood the truck had gone off the road and careened 10 meters down a bank and emergency services took nearly four hours to free him. The truck was held above a ravine of about 30 metres by two large trees that snapped in the crash. The driver had spent much of the past week in a critical condition.
