Big yarding of lambs finds ready market
STOCK SALE: Prices lift about $5, writes
Abig yarding of store lambs sold even better than last week at yesterday’s Stortford Lodge sale. There were about 11,000 lambs offered, most of them in good order, and most found a ready market at about $5 more than last week.
In the cattle sale of about 600 head, an offering of 50 capital stock, in-calf, south devon-cross cows sold well above works price. The cows were in the sale because their home, Roundhill Station, Tutira, has been sold.
The same vendor also sold 1243 rwr romney ewes. They sold from $200 to $255.
Overall the tone of the cattle sale was firm on last week.

PRIME SALE
Prices were sound all round at Monday’s sheep sale. The yarding of about 1100 ewes and 300 lambs was mostly in good condition and sold accordingly.
