Covid death toll

New Zealand has recorded 24 more Covid-related deaths. The tally announced yesterday includes 12 people from the past three days, and another 12 who’ve died since March 5. The Ministry of Health said delays to reporting can be associated with people dying with Covid, rather than from it, and the virus only being discovered after death. It takes the total reported deaths with Covid to 801. New Zealand had 8454 new community cases yesterday and 481 people in hospital — 14 in ICU.
