Trespass orders
Five trespass orders issued in relation to the anti-mandate occupation of Parliament grounds in February and March have been withdrawn, including that of Winston Peters. Speaker Trevor Mallard said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Service Commission on Tuesday, it was agreed former MPs should be treated the same as members of the public. But, he said, the behaviour of some individuals was clearly more egregious than others — and on that basis, it’s been easy to identify people issued trespass notices who were no longer regarded a security risk.
