Health system delays

The senior doctors’ union says shuffling patients around the country won’t fix underlying health system delays. A taskforce is being set up to manage hospital waiting lists at a national level. Health Minister Andrew Little said the change aims to address the growing backlog created by the Covid pandemic. But Association of Salaried Medical Specialists executive director Sarah Dalton said senior doctors can’t fix the build-up, unless they get more staff.
