Migration losses

New Zealand had a net migration loss of 7300 people in the year to the end of March — the lowest since 2012. Stats NZ data shows last year’s net loss was only 1700 — after a net gain in 2020 of 91,000. Measures were announced yesterday to help import high-skilled migrants, including prioritising some and combining six visa types.
