Fox drifts to second

Golf: New Zealand’s Ryan Fox has finished tied for second at the latest World Tour event in Belgium. Fox held a one-shot lead after the third round, but could only manage an even par 71 in the final round. He was overtaken by Englishman Sam Horsfield, who won by two shots after firing a three under par 68. Fox finished tied with Yannik Paul of Germany and pocketed $276,000 while climbing to number six on the World Tour’s season rankings. Fellow New Zealander Josh Geary finished tied for 58th, 15 shots from the winner. In Alabama, Steven Alker tied for third in his first major on the PGA Champions Tour. He closed with a even par 72 to finish on 14-under par. American Steve Stricker claimed his fourth senior major by six shots from Ireland’s Padraig Harrington. And Lydia Ko has closed with a five-under par 67 to finish in a tie for 12th at the latest LPGA tournament in New Jersey.
