Q &A with GLENYS WOOLLARD

What kind of herb is parcel?

It’s a variety of celery that looks more like parsley, adding a celerylike flavour to both salads and cooked dishes — it makes a nice garnish, too. Sometimes known as Chinese celery or leaf celery, parcel is a biennial that’s easier to grow than regular celery, and has been bred for the leaves rather than the stalks. Sow the seed in full sun where it can stay.
