The story on our Facebook page headed “Hastings: Closing Splash Planet contribute­s to $7.2m council deficit” drew these comments:

Jennifer Taylor What did the council expect, keeping it closed in the summer that we have just had. Not a good business move at all, considerin­g all the other swimming pools were open. Leave the rate payers out of this mistake.
