Coll wins, King out

Squash: New Zealand players had a win and a loss in the third round of the World Champs in Cairo yesterday. World No 1 Paul Coll won his way into the men's quarter-finals with an 11-5, 11-0, 11-6 victory over Egypt's Mazen Hesham in 38 minutes on the outdoor court where he dominated the match. Coll's march to victory was halted briefly in the third game while he got a cut on his knee seen to by the physio, but the 2019-20 PSA World Championsh­ip runnerup soon closed out the win in straight games. In an earlier match women's world No 5 Joelle King was beaten in the third round by 15th ranked Egyptian Nada Abbas 7-11, 13-15, 11-8, 6-11 in 58 minutes. King suffered an injury in the early stages of the match but battled back before the younger player, spurred on by a home crowd came through.
