Our president Annette welcomed 23 members, one guest and the speaker to our May meeting. We had 13 apologies and five birthdays.

The Aspirations were recited and the Ode sung.

We had a lengthy amount of correspondence to get through and quite a bit of general business. Once this was all dealt with, our speaker Christine from Wool n Things chatted to us.

She was very knowledgeable about all things wool related. She had been happy to sit through our meeting and she had been observing the goings on.

She noted that several ladies were knitting through the meeting . . . and that was a good thing.

She had purchased a book recently called The Loving Stitch by Heather Nicholson. She had only read a few pages

but found it fascinating and was able to relate things in the book to us, eg. a number of our ladies had been making peggy squares recently and Christine had been reading about them in the book.

She was thanked by Varna and given a small gift of appreciation.

Brenda Spivey and Pam Taylor were both thanked by Annette for their work putting together the peggy squares that members had been making and donated, into blankets.

They are being given to Swinburn House to help keep the young children warm.
