Prices hold on better-quality lambs

STOCK SALE: After falling prices over past month, the market steadies itself, Rose Harding reports.

-

Store lamb prices were steady at Stortford Lodge yesterday. Store lamb prices have been falling over the past month or more. Yesterday’s yarding was better quality than last week so prices at least held for the better pens. There were still some bargains to be had among the longer-term lambs in the yarding of about 5500 head.

The cattle yarding of about 300 head was mostly of good quality yearling stock. They sold on a par with the last few weeks.

Buyers were from Hawke's Bay with one from Auckland, one from Taupo and 15 registered on the Bidr on-line platform.
