Change to Xmas lunch
Christchurch City Mission is changing how it helps needy families this festive season, as demand for food parcels rises. It will no longer host a Christmas Day public lunch, instead hopes to help more people by giving out at least 1500 food parcels in the lead-up week. City Missioner Corinne Haines urges people searching for a public lunch on Christmas to ring around for other options. She says other agencies such as churches and community groups may be putting on lunches instead.
