Appeal rejected
A husband who murdered his wife’s lover in a hammer attack has lost an appeal against his sentence. Niraj Prasad was found guilty of murder at the High Court in Christchurch in March. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum 181⁄2 -year nonparole period. He’d argued his wife’s infidelity was a direct attack on his male ego and manhood. In a newly-released judgment, appeal judges threw out his arguments.
