Wardens rewarded for safety work

-

Napier students descended on Splash Planet yesterday to celebrate the annual School Traffic Safety Team Reward Day with a swim and sausage sizzle.

The city’s elite school patrollers, traffic and bus wardens were recognised for their efforts in keeping fellow students and the public safe in their school travels.

Taradale Primary School received the Hawke’s Bay Today Road Safety Cup for the best operating school patrol within the city, while Henry Hill School took out the Napier City Council Road Safety Challenge Shield for the best traffic warden.

Senior constable and school community officer, Kevin Marshall, said the day wouldn’t be possible without the sponsors, including the Rotary Club of Napier, Road Safe Hawke’s Bay and Hawke’s Bay Engravers.
