Dog-walker named

A dog-walker who died after a stabbing can now be named. Nigel Wilson died eight days after the attack at Christchurch’s Bexley Reserve. Wilson was walking his dog, and the Herald understands he had a brief exchange of words with a motorist about their driving in the reserve. It’s alleged he was then stabbed multiple times. Bailey Messervy appeared via video link in the Christchurch District Court yesterday. The 18-year-old faces a murder charge, and has been remanded in custody to appear in the High Court in February.
