The Norsewood Julemarket (pronounced yool-mar-ket) is a traditiona­l Christmas market named such, to embrace our Norwegian settler heritage.

Following on from a great event last year, the Norsewood Julemarket will make its return on Saturday 10th December. And what better location than a small town of significan­t Scandinavi­an influence, in Norsewood, just a few minutes’ drive away from Dannevirke.

The Village is famed for its Norwegian settlement in the late 1872 (150 years ago). Come and see a host of local shops and boutique tradespeop­le, such as the Norseman Blacksmith, who makes a range of products from knives to jewelry. You can even see the forge in action. Right next door, you’ll also find Jeff Bryan’s hand carved Hovding Gallery, which once again is chokka with recent creations including garden features and wall art.

The Wop Wops Wetland Park is open for a stroll there are massive native New Zealand longfin eels in residence and love a feed, you can grab some for the kids at the New Zealand Natural clothing store who will also be running a 1 day sale on the 10th with Norsewear, Swanndri and all of the best NZ made knitwear and socks in store.

Come along from 10am until 2pm on Saturday 10th December in Norsewood at the Wop Wops Wetland Park and the Old Dairy Factory, for a host of amazing stalls, live entertainm­ent, food and drink, and the chance to get a one-of-a-kind Christmas gift for your loved ones.
