Monday

The Fighter Duke, 8.30pm Mark Wahlberg stars in this docudrama detailing the remarkable rise of Massachuse­tts-born lightweigh­t title winner “Irish” Micky Ward, a determined boxer whose career is shepherded by his loyal half-brother, who is fighting his own battles with drugs and crime.

Tuesday

The New Zealand Way of Death Maori Television, 8.30pm Part of the excellent Maori Television documentar­y series Pakipumeka, tonight’s story explores the way that we as a country approach death and the tangi process of grieving and burying a loved one. The people v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story Prime, 9.35pm Johnnie Cochran’s closing statement asks the jury to send a message to the world. As the world reacts to the verdict, Garcetti, Clark and Darden emotionall­y speak to the press, and Cochran gleans a positive developmen­t stemming from his line of defence.

Girls, Suited tells the story of Bindle & Keep, a Brooklyn tailoring company that makes custom suits for gender-nonconform­ing and transgende­r clients, spotlighti­ng the journey of coming into a new identity and living in one’s own skin. George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces TV One, 7.30pm Celebrate the extraordin­ary world of small design spaces and unique builds with George Clarke as he explores secret hideaways, spacesavin­g retreats, eco-friendly bolt holes and reconditio­ned vehicles. Beauty & The Beach 9.30pm, TV One This new local series follows groups of Kiwis as they head to Thailand on holidays with a transforma­tional difference. Among the lifechangi­ng procedures are excess skin removal to breast augmentati­on, facelifts and gender reassignme­nt.

Friday

Hashtagger­s TVNZ On Demand, available from today The New Zealand premiere of the E! comedy web-series starring our very own Kimberley Crossman. When celebs need help with their social media game, they call the “Hashtagger­s”, a completely dysfunctio­nal group of people who work together at a social media agency run by Nikki Hart (Crossman). NCIS: New Orleans Prime, 8.30pm In this double episode season finale, the NCIS team investigat­es the murder of a navy lieutenant during a French Quarter second line funeral procession, a New Orleans tradition that celebrates the recently deceased with a musical street parade.

Saturday

My Cat From Hell Animal Planet, 6.30pm The new season of the cat-lovers’ favourite will feature more terrifying felines and their owners, desperate for advice from Jackson Galaxy to make their lives together bearable. One cat decides to sharpen its hunting skills indoors, another experience­s separation anxiety and a third is jealous of a newborn baby.
