SHORTY’S ON MKR

-

Stand by for some clever TV crossover when MKR NZ hits our screens soon.

Spy can reveal that last week, several Shorty St stars pulled up a table at the MKR NZ kitchen. Tane Williams-Accra, Jarod Rawiri, Ngahuia Piripi, Grace Palmer and two of the show’s Aussie triplets — Lucy Lovegrove and Luke Patrick — chowed down with MKR’s 8 Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. Expect to see all the action on the upcoming season. Not that the Shorty stars are giving anything away.

“To be honest, I was never a fan of cooking shows. However, this experience has most definitely changed my views,” said Palmer.

“I’m not allowed to say much about the shoot but the food was amazing, particularly dessert … I loved it so much and Pete actually took it off me … not sure why he did — he was playing with fire … I could have eaten three of them.”

Spy hit up Evans, who flew back to Auckland for more filming on Thursday … Why did you take Grace’s dessert away?

“I couldn’t hear what someone was saying over her moving spoon”, said Evans.

All this trans-Tasman flying and two Aussies at his table in Auckland, found Feildel very discombobulated on what the NZ soap was about and why there were three Aussie triplets on the show.

“I had to laugh, as I think Manu might have been slightly confused by the fact that there are three Aussies called Luke, Lucy and Lukas playing triplets on New Zealand’s longest-running soap. I didn’t have the heart to tell him the storyline had been in the works for 20 years,” Patrick told Spy.

“It was such cool experience … and such a pleasure meeting both Manu and Pete, my mum was totally jealous when I told her.”
