WHAT THE EXPERTS PREDICT

-

Johnny Nelson Former cruiserweight world champion Some of Anthony Joshua’s previous opponents had tasted defeat before, but Joseph Parker has confidence in his chin, his resume says it all. As the weeks have gone by, I think Parker has grown in confidence. Now, when I look at him, I don’t sense any doubt in him. He’s an unbeaten young fighter, so he doesn’t know how else to act. I think we have got a real fight on our hands. Teddy Atlas Commentator Although the most polished of all the heavyweights, Joshua is not without his own flaws. But Parker, although tough and physical, is one- dimensional in his approach, which should allow Joshua to do some effective counterpunching and then mix in a lead jab that should take Joshua to a unanimous decision win. Freddie Roach Hall of Fame trainer Parker is actually a much better fighter than people give him credit for. But I don’t think he can beat Joshua at this point of his career.

Shannon Briggs Veteran US heavyweight It’s going to be a good, fast, big heavyweight fight. It could go either way. I don’t know how big a puncher Parker is but his hands are crazy, I love the way he throws a variety of different punches. Deontay Wilder WBC world heavyweight champion I definitely think Parker is going to have to knock out Joshua to win. I see it going later rounds. I definitely give Parker a chance. Tony Bellew Former world cruiserweight champion Joshua will eat Joseph Parker. A very good big guy will always beat a good little guy. Dillian Whyte British heavyweight contender I think Parker will get smashed to bits. I think he will be lucky to go six rounds. He hasn’t got enough in his arsenal. You’ll have to soak up a lot of punishment against Joshua at some point . . . Parker will not be able to make him miss.
