Actress and producer Holly Shervey is getting ready to shake things up in Ferndale.

Shervey co-created smash hit comedy web series Auckward Love with husband-to-be Emmett Skilton. Now she is “ecstatic” to be heading to a role on Shortland Street.

“My agent called me a few days before Christmas and told me that unfortunately I was going to be unavailable for other work for a while.

“Very confused, I asked him what he meant by other, to which he said, ‘Oh, you’ve been cast in Shortland Street'.

“At that point I pretty much lost my shit.”

Shervey’s character is described as an attractive, lively, single woman who has a very casual relationship with the truth.

“My character Zoe is a force to be reckoned with — she’s a great person who has family ties in Ferndale and already has ruffled a number of feathers.

“But will Zoe find her very own awkward love in Ferndale? Hmmmmm better watch this space!”

Auckward Love has been hugely successful internationally and has played at web festivals in Los Angeles, London and Melbourne. Shervey is currently working on a fourth season.

“We created Auckward Love as a show that we wanted to see, so for it to be resonating with audiences at home and all around the world is so special and a little bit crazy. It was also created as a vehicle for us all to break into the industry, so to now be cast in Shortland

Street, as well as our other cast and crew getting incredible new opportunities, I feel Auckward Love is really smashing the things we set out to achieve.”
