I only travel in crystalcovered gondolas . . .

-

The newest attraction at Zermatt Bergbahnen in Switzerland, the Matterhorn Glacier Ride, has a special jewel in its crown — four gondolas decked out with 280,000 Swarovski crystals which create a sparkling light effect for passengers. The Crystal Ride forms part of the new attraction, the highest cableway of its kind in the world, which takes nine minutes to get to and from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Three minutes into the journey the opaque glass floor clears, offering dramatic views of the mountain landscape 170m below. The cableway has 25 gondolas in total, each with 28 seats, accommodating up to 2000 passengers an hour.
