Get It To Te Papa Lightbox, from Tuesday

Whatever happened to the dildo that hit Steven Joyce in the face at Waitangi a couple of years ago? It’s a question that has literally kept Hayden Donnell awake at night. Instead of letting it go, he’s launched a full-blown campaign to — as the title of this new Lightbox series suggests — Get It To Te Papa. Each episode focuses on an item of supposed cultural significance (the Big Fresh animatronic veges, the Whitcoulls Santa, Suzanne Paul) and goes on an adventure to find them and get our national museum to accept them. Idiotic, but heartfelt.

Grand Designs NZ Three, 7:30pm Wednesday

The new season of Grand Designs NZ has been delivering some quality builds, but this week’s one takes the cake — they’re building a treehouse. A treehouse! Chris Moller’s not going to know what’s hit him. Owners Rik and Boio sound like your classic Grand Designers — they retired to Hanmer Springs a few years ago but instead of taking it easy, ended up taking on an extremely ambitious and stressful building project. Their treehouse has eight unique sections and a skylight in the master bedroom. Can you even imagine?

The Romanoffs Amazon Prime Video

The first new television from Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner since we bade farewell to Don Draper and the gang, The Romanoffs is an anthology series about the various people who claim to be descendants of the former Russian royal family. The original House of Romanov and their real-life impostors is a wild Wikipedia wormhole to go down next time you’re bored — rich source material for this big-budget production. Each episode deals with a different pretender to royalty, with some capital-A Actors popping up throughout the series — Mad Men alum Christina Hendricks is in one. Very fancy.
