Fox in a tie for 19th in South Africa
Ryan Fox slipped at the European Tour’s Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa. The Kiwi golfer carded three bogeys and two birdies in a one-over 73 in the second round at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City to be in a tie for 19th at one-under. Fox started the day in a tie for 11th after an opening round two-under 70. Fox trails leader Sergio Garcia of Spain by eight strokes. Garcia carded a one-under 71, a day after his eight-under 64 gave him a four-shot first round lead. Home favourite Louis Oosthuizen produced a strong back nine to card a five-under 67 and move within a shot of Garcia. South African Oosthuizen is his nearest challenger as he seeks a first win at a tournament he has long coveted, with Finland’s Mikko Korhonen (70) three shots back.
Ryan Fox dropped from 11th to 19th.
