For ages it seemed like nobody was talking about the cannabis referendum at next month’s election, now it feels like everybody’s talking about it all the time. Three has timed the release of the locally produced movie Toke to perfection — it’s about a trio of orchard workers in the remote Coromandel community of Tokerangi (Toke for short) who accidentally grow a super-strain of weed that attracts the attention of international drug kingpins. Maybe it won’t help us decide whether to vote yes or no, but it should be a lot of fun to watch all the same.
