Green stars in Knights debut
A masterclass by Warriors reject Blake Green helped the Knights put a woeful Wests Tigers side to the sword 44-4 in a lopsided NRL clash in Newcastle last night. The five-eighth was a strong and steady influence, along with Kalyn Ponga and Mitchell Pearce, as the Knights ran in a staggering eight tries to one to consolidate a place in the top eight. The Panthers equalled a club-record eighth win in a row by dispatching the Raiders 28-12 to return to the top of the table. Penrith were devastating in the first half against last year’s beaten finalists, leading 24-0 at the break. The Storm showcased their depth to clinically dispose of the bottomplaced Bulldogs 41-10 on the Sunshine Coast. That pool of talent will be tested again, though, after another knee injury to Cameron Munster.
