Storm enjoy more Sunshine Coast success

-

The Melbourne Storm moved to within one win of leaders Penrith with a 20-14 victory over the Gold Coast Titans in yesterday’s only NRL game. It was another ‘home’ win for the Storm at Sunshine Coast Stadium, a venue where they enjoyed great success when camped there for five months last season. The Titans opened the scoring but the Storm were ahead 16-4 at the break, a lead they never relinquished. Former Wests Tigers NRL premiership-winning coach Tim Sheens, 70, has returned to the club as its new head of football performance. Sheens guided the Tigers to the 2005 grand final win and has taken up a new role at the club overseeing recruitment, pathways, football administration and club culture. The appointment came just hours after the Tigers overcame the Origin-depleted Penrith Panthers 26-6 on Friday night.
