National Party should take over Act

-

It would seem to me that the only way the National Party will form part of the government in future is if they take over the Act Party and elect David Seymour as their leader.

When was it a capital offence for an MP to tell a mildly dirty joke?

Labour is probably hoping that Act will also self destruct so they can be the government for the next decade.

Pauline Alexander (“Who were the Beehive crazies?” letters,

Spotting the crazies

If you couldn’t spot the crazies you were probably one of them.

Tinfoil hats

I’m going to invest in companies that make tinfoil — I sense a spike in the market.

Vaccination rates

While Aucklanders celebrate being 90 per cent double-jabbed, the figures for the “Vaccination rates from around the world” the Herald used for comparison were sourced from National Health agencies using “figures of other countries based on total population”. Those figures reveal that 1st place goes to Singapore with 87.9; 2nd is Spain on 80.7; 3rd France 78; 4th Canada 76.5; 5th Australia 71.6; 6th Norway and New Zealand equal with 70.7 according to the World Health Organisation and the Bloomberg Vaccine Tracker.

Mediocre people

I suggest an alteration to Paul Catmur’s column “Mediocre people don’t get statues” (HoS, November 21) to Mediocre people don’t get results.

In a world where a dimwitted narcissist who bankrupted several casinos could become US President and bring the US into disrepute, where several English Kings with their names on high-profile landmarks got their heads therapeutically amputated for not using them, anyone mediocre with enough (inherited) money could get a statue.
