Adele has insisted her postponed Las Vegas shows will go ahead this year, as she hinted her family may soon be expanding.

Following the last-minute cancellation, the 33-year-old singer said she had “tried her hardest” to be ready for the residency, which had been due to start in January.

“I regret that I kept going until late in that day,” she said, addressing criticism she received for cancelling the day before the first performance was scheduled at Caesars Palace Hotel.

She confirmed the shows would be rescheduled this year, telling The Graham Norton Show they would have to go ahead in 2022 because she “will be disappearing next year”, saying she would like to have more children.

“Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”

She said: “I will be disappearing in terms of my music, but you might see a glimpse of me now and then and I won’t be in complete hiding.”

The singer has a nine-year-old son, Angelo, with her ex-husband Simon Konecki. They finalised their divorce last March and she is now dating Rich Paul, an American sports agent.

She said if the Vegas residency had gone ahead as planned, it would have been “a really half-a **** show”.

“I’ve never done anything like that in my life and I’m not going to start now,” she said.

The star cancelled her residency in a teary Instagram video in which she said the show had been “absolutely destroyed” by Covid and what she called delivery delays.

She told Norton: “We are now working our a **** off, but I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready.”

After recording The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Adele surprised fans at Heaven, a London club, by performing an impromptu pole dance.
