SUSAN BADCOCK GALLERY
Regional New Zealand is a great incubator of talent, so when Susan Badcock dreamed of opening a gallery, she felt her hometown of Geraldine calling.
Members of the renowned Badcock family have each carved out their own artistic niche, and today, three generations of their work adorns the walls of the town’s grand old post office — the new home of Susan Badcock Gallery. As the main agent for her father, celebrated painter John Badcock, Susan Badcock Gallery runs regular exhibitions showcasing his portraiture, landscape and garden works, which have found favour with art aficionados around the world. Located in Geraldine’s iconic post office building, it represents a unique opportunity to view New Zealand art history, and with a fantastic gallery shop, The Mailroom, adjoining it, it’s a beautiful place to stop in and spend some time.
