Hockey teams descend on Levin

-

The nine hockey teams plus Horowhenua who descended on Levin have been having a great week at the Halliwell Turf in Donnelly Park.

Supporters from around the lower North Island turned up with their pom poms, wigs and their families to support the teams, making the tournament a very festive one.

On Tuesday and Wednesday some matches provided a lot of draws and some very close results, putting pressure on all teams to play 100 per cent and more if they could find it. Some had to play two games in a day.

Finals day was Thursday and the points for the week were all too close to be able to pick a winner for the tournament. Medals will be awarded for first and second place and certificates for third spot. Three local teams are playing around the country at the moment.
