Women’s fours team deserved their triumph
Two weeks ago the Levin Bowls Women’s Fours championship began with teams playing two out of three to qualify. At the end of play two teams had qualified.
The final was played in beautiful conditions with the winners being the team of Dot Collis, Viv Hudson, Jenny Watt and Paula Vercoe.
They played very well and thoroughly deserved their win over Bea Gray, Ann Malone, Kathy Field and Lorraine Waugh.
Last weekend saw the commencement of the Men’s Championship Triples. Six teams qualified with the team of Gerry Welply, Ian McQueen and Danny Madden winning through to the semi-final over Des Patching, Paul Kirkby and Dennis Wolff.
The team of Neil Bovey, Gary Wylie and Stacey Thomas won the other semifinal over Ray Hudson, Gary Burns and Ross McLean. Final to be played at a later date.
Sunset bowls has started for the season on a Wednesday night at 5.30pm but please be there at least quarter of an hour before. Flat shoes to be worn. Tea is available for $5 after play.
