Sui­cide aware­ness walk for Fox­ton

An event to raise aware­ness around sui­cide and of­fer sol­i­dar­ity to those af­fected by it will be held in Fox­ton on Satur­day.

No One Walks Alone — Cel­e­brat­ing the Preser­va­tion of Life will tie in with Te Waioura Health Cen­tre’s Wha¯ nau Ora day.

It is be­ing or­gan­ised by Korero Hau­maru and Kia Piki Kaha Sui­cide Pre­ven­tion Ser­vice.

Any­one wish­ing to raise aware­ness, sup­port each other or re­mem­ber a loved one lost to sui­cide is in­vited to join in and walk from Te Waiora Health Cen­tre to Fox­ton Beach, down Lady’s Mile.

Reg­is­tra­tion opens at 8am with the walk ex­pected to fin­ish around 10am.

The Wha¯ nau Ora day is a free com­mu­nity event, with sausage siz­zles, ac­tiv­i­ties and bouncy cas­tles for the chil­dren.
