Bowls cham­pi­onships com­pleted

Last week­end Cen­tral Bowl­ing Club Levin men com­pleted their triples and fours cham­pi­onships.

Gary Wylie, Patrick Al­bert, Ian McQueen and Danny Mad­den played the team of Ray Hud­son, Gary Burns, Er­rol Shear­man and Ross McLean in the semi-fi­nal of the fours and af­ter a close game Wylie’s team pre­vailed, win­ning 21-17.

Gary’s team went onto play the team of Dereck Tay­lor, Sam Neill, Buster Davis and Ross Sta­ples in the fi­nal, hav­ing an­other tightly fought game with Gary’s team pre­vail­ing 12-11.

Af­ter the fi­nal of the fours cham­pi­onship the fi­nal of the cham­pi­onship triples was played be­tween the teams of Gerry Welply, Ian McQueen and Danny Mad­den and the team of Neil Bovey, Gary Wylie and Stacey Thomas. This was an­other well­con­tested game with Welply’s team win­ning 21-15.

The Ka¯ piti/Horowhenua rep­re­sen­ta­tive team played Wairarapa on Sun­day and were win­ners.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the Cen­tral play­ers who made the team: Jenny Watt, Sam­mie Sweeney, Dereck Tay­lor, Sam Neill, Dy­lan Thomas, Stacey Thomas and Gary Wylie.

A re­minder about Sun­set bowls held at Cen­tral Levin on a Wed­nes­day nights at 5.30pm. Please be there a quar­ter of an hour be­fore.

All you need is a flat pair of shoes and there is a meal af­ter bowls, all for $5.

The Men’s Cen­tre Fours were held at Cen­tral Levin Bowl­ing Club with the teams of Ray Hud­son, Neil Bovey, Gary Wylie and Dereck Tay­lor qual­i­fy­ing from Cen­tral Levin. G Wylie and N Bovey both lost their first post sec­tion game with R Hud­son and D Tay­lor los­ing their se­cond round game.
