Bowls championships completed
Last weekend Central Bowling Club Levin men completed their triples and fours championships.
Gary Wylie, Patrick Albert, Ian McQueen and Danny Madden played the team of Ray Hudson, Gary Burns, Errol Shearman and Ross McLean in the semi-final of the fours and after a close game Wylie’s team prevailed, winning 21-17.
Gary’s team went onto play the team of Dereck Taylor, Sam Neill, Buster Davis and Ross Staples in the final, having another tightly fought game with Gary’s team prevailing 12-11.
After the final of the fours championship the final of the championship triples was played between the teams of Gerry Welply, Ian McQueen and Danny Madden and the team of Neil Bovey, Gary Wylie and Stacey Thomas. This was another wellcontested game with Welply’s team winning 21-15.
The Ka¯ piti/Horowhenua representative team played Wairarapa on Sunday and were winners.
Congratulations to the Central players who made the team: Jenny Watt, Sammie Sweeney, Dereck Taylor, Sam Neill, Dylan Thomas, Stacey Thomas and Gary Wylie.
A reminder about Sunset bowls held at Central Levin on a Wednesday nights at 5.30pm. Please be there a quarter of an hour before.
All you need is a flat pair of shoes and there is a meal after bowls, all for $5.
The Men’s Centre Fours were held at Central Levin Bowling Club with the teams of Ray Hudson, Neil Bovey, Gary Wylie and Dereck Taylor qualifying from Central Levin. G Wylie and N Bovey both lost their first post section game with R Hudson and D Taylor losing their second round game.
