Christmas in Park a big hit in Foxton
Christmas in the Park, held in Te Awahou-Foxton recently, attracted a large crowd of 700- plus to the event. It was hosted by a local ukulele group from Foxton Beach, Nukulele Boom led by Viti Taylor.
Local businesses, people from both near and far helped make the event a huge success. Mayor Michael Feyen opened the event.
Local schools, choirs, dancers, bands, pipers, soloists performed . MCs Amber Ching-Taylor and Jack Paki kept the crowd informed about the acts and also gave out donated spot prizes.
Nukulele Boom’s spokesperson, Viti Taylor, said the venue, the Foxton Primary School field domain, was perfect. The weather was favourable and overall it was a fun, family event.
Locals are excited to know that this was just the beginning for Foxton and the organising committee says it is looking forward to another event in 2019.
