Pets get chance to pose with Santa Paws

Horowhenua Chronicle - - NEWS - By LEXI RUTHERFORD ■ Lexi Rutherford is on work experience with the Horowhenua Chronicle.

Pets will have an opportunity to have a Christmas photo taken with their families in Levin this weekend.

In the first Santa Paws initiative organised by Horowhenua District Council, professional photographer and SPCA volunteer Kelsey Dina will take photos of families and their pets.

The photos cost $5 each and all proceeds go to the Horowhenua SPCA. The photo session will be held at Ko¯ whai Park from 9am to 12pm on Sunday, December 9.

HDC Civic and Community Events Coordinator Melissa Steedman said Santa Paws is the pawfect way to capture the whole family in a Christmas photo, as well as helping animals in care this festive season. They are expecting mostly dogs and cats, which must be on leashes or in crates, but they wouldn’t be surprised if someone brought along a goat or chicken which also must be appropriately restrained, she said.
