Club’s ju­nior sin­gles de­cided

The Cen­tral Bowl­ing Club’s ju­nior sin­gles were held re­cently, with nine en­tries in the men’s sin­gles and four in the women’s sin­gles.

Of the nine men six qual­i­fied for post sec­tion play. Dereck Tay­lor and Pa­trick Al­bert drew the byes, while Dy­lan Thomas de­feated Ash Boyd and Stacey Thomas de­feated Sam Neill.

The semi­fi­nals saw some very tight bowls be­ing played with Dereck de­feat­ing Pa­trick and Stacey de­feat­ing son Dy­lan.

The fi­nal was a very good game with Dereck even­tu­ally win­ning 21-12.

In the women’s both Paula Ver­coe and An­nie Con­mee had two wins so played off in the fi­nal. Af­ter trail­ing for some time in the game, Paula came out the vic­tor by 21-17.

Both Dereck and Paula will now rep­re­sent the club at the ju­nior cham­pion of cham­pi­ons event later in the sea­son.
