BOWLS

Since the arrival of level 1 of the Covid lockdown, the Levin Bowling Club in Weraroa Rd over the last few weekends have finished off many of their club championsh­ips that had been held over from earlier in the year. The Men’s fours has been won by W Judd, P Gardner, W Larsen and M House, Women’s fours was won by D Short, H Rose, M Judd and C Turnbull, Junior Pairs won by N

Annand and J Winter and last weekend the mixed singles, which had a large field of twenty players, was won by J Bagnall. The club is now very active over the coming weeks, with 16 teams so far entered in the mixed triples and twelve teams entered in the mixed fours. These events will be held in August at our club rooms and all players are looking forward to these events. Members of the public are welcome to come along and watch these events, and maybe come along and have a roll up at 1pm on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, see you there.

Standings: As we get closer to semifinals, here’s a reminder of the ranking order if teams are equal on points:

a) The team that had the most wins between each other in the round robin matches; and

b) Should both teams have the same number of wins then the team with the most bonus points of having scored 4 or more tries in all matches be declared the winner; and

c) Should both teams have the same number of bonus points of having scored 4 or more tries then the team having the higher differenti­al between the average of points scored for and against be declared the winners; and
