- Year 5&6 Grade Bill Muir Cup Competition Semifinal Draw — August 8

Foxton ran Shannon ragged at the Shannon Domain on Saturday and came away winners on the day. They will meet Ra¯ hui in the reserve grade semifinal at the O¯ taki Domain next week. The other semifinal is between College Old Boys against Toa.

Foxton dominated Shannon in all aspects of the game and took control from the whistle. Starting with two quick tries. Shannon fought back and scored a fine try, however Foxton carried on to be 22-5 up at the break.

At halftime Foxton coach Stefen Ferguson said, “We’re winning this game, fellas, and carry on where we left off. Get the pods going, contest and get the ball out to the backs.

Everyone is focusing on what they have to do, which is great.”

Shannon coach Koro Wade said, “We need to kick the ball into their 20m zone and keep them down there. Keep them under pressure. Because when they have to turn around the pressure starts to build due to them not gaining any yards.”

In the second spell Foxton continued the momentum and never let Shannon into the game.
