Horowhenua Community Music Workshop to begin again 2021

-

The Horowhenua Community Music Workshop (HCMW) will begin again for 2021. It is exactly what its name suggests, a community resource providing music tuition after school. What a wonderful resource for the community.

Tuition is for primary and Intermediate age children, offering a range of instruments to choose from; keyboard, guitar, bass, violin, ukulele, drums, flute, clarinet and recorder. The cost of the lessons are kept as low as possible, so it makes it affordable for all. For three terms of the year, the cost is $30.00. This equates to $10.00 a term or a dollar a lesson!

There are instruments to hire ($30) for those who need them, at a very reasonable hire rate. All tutors are practicing musicians with many years experience.

The half hour lessons are based at Levin Intermediate School, Collingwood Street, after school. At the end of the third term, the students perform what they have learnt in a concert for family and friends. There are solos and group items by all involved. All participants who complete the year, receive acknowledgement with a certificate.

Registrations can be done phoning Rona Cooper 06 368 2510, noting the instrument and preferred day for the lesson. Tutors will contact the students with the date and time of the class. Payment may be made on the first day or collected once lessons have begun.

This is Haoyan Bai, after having received his certificate at the HCMW concert.
