Former Levin jockey banned
Former Levin jockey Jason Waddell has been disqualified from racing for 10 years.
A New Zealand Racing Judicial Control Authority has found the 35-year-old guilty of threatening to kill and posting an insulting message.
In its decision, released last week, it said Waddell’s offending was a direct threat to the integrity of the industry. The charges came soon after Waddell had been sentenced for a raft of other conduct charges, including failing to provide a urine sample for analysis.
He had ridden 688 winners for more than $13 million in stake money.
