SWIMMING

Levin Swimming Club results and report from the recent 2022 Wellington 13-years-and-over long course champs.

The weekend was all about: Believe — Dream — Achieve, highs, lows, tears , giggles, above all a team full of spirit, drive, great attitude towards your teammates and fellow competitors.

2021 two swimmers from LSC competed at Wellington Long Course Champs. That was 12 months ago, in that time you the swimmers of LSC created your own squad module within yourselves: spirit, ethics, discipline, attitude, camaraderie, purpose, drive to succeed.

As the year progressed, complete with our friend Covid, you all kept positive, kept moving forward with positive attitude, getting stronger — wanting more.

You the team put it all together at the Wellington Champs.

As soon as you all walked in the door, all your team spirit — work ethics, rolled out, creating a joyful team spirit, which created your own personal medals = PBs. Some achieved finals, those who didn’t still turned up at finals sessions did the warm up sessions all together — team work ethics — spirit.

L.S.C team was small compared to other local clubs , including some of the big teams from around NZ. But you made your presence felt with your continual barrage of vocal support for those swimming was absolutely priceless.

In doing so L.S.C has been extended another invitation to train at a club in Christchurch, attend a competition when possible . You all experienced highs / lows, giggles, disappointment, but your jovial team spirit / support pulled each of you through setbacks and kept driving forward = team. Postive, powerful, purpose. On behalf of myself and the swimmers, a huge thank you to Esta for all the work you put in prior to the swim meet, all the work / long hours at the swim meet, especially the meeting — to reset the swim meet when the Covid restrictions where put into place. All the nail biting, heart-stopping moments watching the LSC team competing. Thank you.

To Jack our camera man recording all the races on the tablet for the swimmers to review, thank you. Arie, thank you for jumping into time keep when the electronic timing collapsed, thank you. Above all, thank you to our dedicated parents for your endless support both before, at, and after the swim meet, sincerely appreciated.
