Talented folk duo guest performers

-

Levin Folk Music Club meets again tonight at the Scottish Hall, corner of Bartholomew Rd and Middlesex St, Levin. The guest performers are Sadie and Jay.

Jay (David) Penman was born in Scotland and raised in New Zealand.

He is part of a family a-capella group called The Penmans. Sadie, with her Welsh heritage, has a love of singing. Together they create beautiful song, with glorious harmonies and skilful, inventive instrumentals on guitar, bouzouki and double bass.

For the past six years Sadie and Jay have been performing in and beyond the Brisbane folk festival scene. They have had successful tours in the UK.

They returned to New Zealand for the Hamilton folk festival in 2019.

They have recorded three albums: Curious, Rogue Folk, and A Passing of Seasons. The latter album won the Australian Celtic Album of the year.

The evening begins at

7.30pm with a blackboard of local performers.

Supper will be available, however, social distancing needs to be adhered too.

Vaccine passes are required to be shown on entry.

Guests will appear after supper.
