The Kist unlock rich collection of songs
Wellington trio play Levin folk music club tonight
The Levin Folk Music Club is hosting a Wellington trio tonight bringing with them a treasure trove of songs. They will be playing arranged songs from Irish to Americana, including some originals. A “kist” is a sea chest of most precious items, and for this group, the kist is their music.
First half is the blackboard with keen performers. The guests, Wellington trio The Kist, will be after supper in the second half.
The Kist are Pat Higgins (vocal, guitar and flute), Rusty Tonz (cello and vocal) and Jude Madill (vocal, fiddle, banjo and guitar).
The folk music club meets at the Horowhenua Scottish Society Hall, Bartholomew Road. Admission is $10 and $5 for members.
Supper will be available however social distancing needs to be adhered to. Vaccine passes are required also.
Levin Folk Music Club also, has a fourth Friday, March 25, acoustic night, where performers can come and have a go in an informal environment.
