THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS
This is a quick 5-question survey designed by the World Health Organisation to help you check in on how you're doing emotionally. It's not meant to diagnose anything, but you might want to make sure you're somewhere quiet or private in case it stirs anything up for you.
How to score?
Count up your answers and multiply the number by 4 for a percentage score.
Score of less than 52
(and/or a score of 0 - 1 on any of the questions)
It sounds like you’re having a really rough time at the moment and if, on reflection, you’ve been feeling like this for a while, it is worth reaching out. Hopefully you’re already talking with someone about how you’re feeling, but if not you may want to reach out to a friend, talk to your GP, or call or text a counselling helpline and talk about what’s going on.
Score of 52-80
Your score suggests in the last two weeks you’ve been doing okay - maybe struggling a bit at times, but coping. However if any of the questions has caused you to reflect on things and raised concerns, it’s a good idea to talk to your partner, family members or friends. Talking is always a good idea!
Score of 80-100
Your score suggests in the last two weeks you’ve been feeling good, maybe even great! Go you. If you have the energy, it can be good to pay it forward and make sure the people around you are doing okay too. Check in on your partner, your kids and your friends. And take note of what you’ve done over the last two weeks that’s worked for you - and if you can, do more of it!
