AVOIDING DIGITAL EXCLUSION AMONGST SENIORS
Grey Power has been advised about scheduled Digital Learning classes that the library has upcoming over the next couple of months.
They are offering two of the DIAA Better Digital Futures classes, which run over four sessions, over four weeks:
• Digital Introductory - For seniors and older adults who want to use digital technology to pursue hobbies, find the right digital device, communicate with family and friends, and become more independent online.
• Runs over 4 sessions over 4 weeks
• 1 to 2 hour sessions, small class sizes
• Starts Monday 8 August, 10am-12pm
• At Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-p , 10 Bath Street Levin
• Free, registration essential via www.steppingup.nz or contact Leala
• Digital Engagement - For seniors and older adults who want to use digital technology for online shopping, digital banking, managing photos and problem solving online.
• Runs over 4 sessions over 4 weeks
• 1 to 2 hour sessions, small class sizes
• Starts Monday 5 September, 1pm – 3pm
• At Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-p , 10 Bath Street Levin

• Digital Drop-Ins - An informal drop-in session for simple tech questions. No booking needed.
• Once a month at all three of our Libraries Horowhenua sites
• Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-p : 3rd Thursday of the month, 10am – 12pm
• Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom: 2nd Thursday of the month, 10am – 12pm
• Shannon Library: 3rd Monday of the month, 1.30pm-3.30pm
Internet Health, Safety & Wellbeing with John Parsons
John Parsons, Internet Safety and Cyber Security expert, will be giving two free public talks
at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-po¯ .
• Session for seniors and older adults: Wednesday 17 August, 10am-11.30am
• Session for parents and guardians: Wednesday 17 August, 5.30pm – 7.00pm
