Purebread Spring-MusicFest 22 is on this Sunday

The annual Purebread SpringMusi­cFest 22, part of the Purebread Spring Music Events 2022, will be held at the Levin Adventure Park on Sunday October 30 from 11am to 4pm.

Music starts for the day at 10.30am with DJ Just Press Play, who will continue throughout the day between live acts, and conclude the day performing through to 4.30pm.

The opening live performanc­e begins at 11am when Peyton Morete opens the day at 11am. A talented young singer songwriter. Peyton has been performing locally in music events since she was 9. Her music is soulful, powerful and contempora­ry with her big vocals. Peyton is currently in her second year of study towards a degree in commercial music at Massey University, Wellington. Fernando and Friends, a Latin American jazz band will be performing from noon. They have among them Kāpiti musical identity Fernando Figueroa of Chilean decent, he brings an exciting South American exuberance to the stage. They perform originals and contempora­ry improvised music.

At 1.30pm, Horowhenua Band Peanut Slab will entertain with originals and covers bringing a “rhythm and blues base, with a reggae twist, covering music from the 70s to now ”.

Kāpiti based Latin American Jazz ensemble Loaded Brasso performs from 3pm. Their musical set includes some originals and popular covers with a jazzy twist.

Event organiser Chris Craddock said, “Bring yourself [and the family], a picnic basket and a blanket, and come early, and enjoy five hours of live blues, reggae, soul, R&B, and jazz.

Wet weather venue: Firebird Cafe, Oxford St, Levin.
