Kāpiti congratulates Electra Business & Innovation Awards finalists

- Ka pai tōu mahi!

Whāia te iti kahurangi! Strive for something of great value!

On behalf of the Kāpiti Coast District Council I would like to congratulate the finalists in this year’s Electra Business & Innovation Awards.

Council is incredibly proud to once again be supporting the awards and we acknowledge the mahi put in by many people to make this happen. It’s a real feature of the Kāpiti calendar and a great celebration of business excellence.

This year there were 18 Kāpiti entrants, representing a range of industries including the hospitality and retail, construction and trades, consumer services and not-for-profit sectors, among others.

It’s a great mix of well and not-so-wellknown names and really highlights the diverse and vibrant economy we have here in Kāpiti.

I’d like to extend a big mihi to all those who entered the awards, and indeed to our wider local business community.

Between the lingering tail of covid 19, the impacts of global conflict and host of headwinds it continues to be a tricky operating environment.

I commend your resilience, determination, and innovation.

Despite the challenges we are all facing the Kāpiti Coast economy has been growing – by 2.7 percent in the year to March – which has put us in a good position for whatever comes next. Thank you for your contribution to that, and for helping make Kāpiti such a cool place to live, work, play and visit.

To the finalists, all the best for the next steps. It won’t be easy. The process is rigorous, and this year involves not one but two judging rounds.

But the awards are about helping you to do what you do better, so you can get better results. So, whether you win an award or not, you win just by being involved.
