.. .. .. .. .. Joy Meredith is not looking forward to the 18th birthday party her mother is organising.

Her mother has invited hundreds of people. Joy would far rather have a quiet evening with her family and close friends.

The night is better than expected until late in the evening when a family member dies.

Home for Joy is Monaghan Station in Queensland. It’s 1979 and she knows it’s time to go out into the big wide world. She’s made up her mind to defy her mother and move into a flat in town as she studies to become a vet.

She’s happy. She has a boyfriend and a part-time job in a bar. Life is good.

Then she meets the lead singer in a band, Mick Harris. Suddenly her life has changed and she finds herself deferring her studies while she jets off with Mick,

But just when she thinks she’s found the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with, things change again.

An enjoyable fast-moving read that will keep you entertained.
