The new Beast is a thing of beauty
We have seen the “King of the Beasts” advertisements — now the arrival of the nextgeneration Mitsubishi Triton that features in them is just days away.
The new Triton will be available at Ingham Mitsubishi.
Just about everything about the new model is just that — new.
The Triton has a completely new chassis and redesigned suspension, matched to the proven Super Select 4WD II system to give a claimed best-in-class off-road capability on any terrain.
It is bigger (130mm longer wheelbase) and more impressive looking and offers more cabin space and cargo space and the maximum braked towing capacity has increased to 3.5 tonnes.
It is available in three body types — single cab, club cab and double cab — featuring a bold exterior design.
There are also three levels — GLX, GLXR and VRX.
The interior promises SUV-like comfort, blending design and functionality. The VRX has a premium leather interior with highlight stitching.
It has also been redesigned, blending design and functionality to give enhanced comfort, a more spacious interior and better noise reduction.
A new 9-inch audio display, along with a 7-inch LCD information display incorporated in the instrument cluster, is standard across the range.
It features wireless Apple CarPlay and
Bluetooth.
All models have a suite of state-of-theart Advanced Driver Assistance Systems designed to make them safer, more comfortable and easier to drive.
All are powered by a new 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel engine matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.
At the unveiling, it was revealed the new, cleaner diesel produces 150kW of power and 470Nm of torque, significantly up from 135kW and 437Nm.
That should be enough to get buyers registering now for a test drive when “The Beast” finally lands.
